Ok, I've been gone for a while but I'm back now. That's usually how my writing goes as well. I may jot a scene or two down on paper, mainly in a screenplay type format, and then abandon the project for a few months until something moves me enough to fill in detail or jot down another few scenes. True, I'll probably never get anything to a publishable or shareable state this way but that's cool…

What's Hot in Writers, Readers and Creators Forum ?

Bcool: Steven Erikson, Gardens of the Moon, Fantasy Novel — I just finished reading it and I wasn't as impressed. Yes, it's confusing as Drexes says. If you know what's really going on in the first 100 pages then you're smarter than I am. The issue is the wealth of characters you're introduced to at the beginning with very little background or motivation. A scene at the beginning was put there, I thought, to provide a bit of scope, flavor, and history…

Leshia: Naming Help — Thanks, Lucinda! You're sweet to help. The story is done and published (under my alter ego's name), but your advice is wise and I'll remember it for next time! :-)

Lucinda: Naming Help — I'm a bit lazy, so I've only skim read the resposnes to your original post Leshia, but my suggestion is that you steer well clear of names that have inaccessible spellings or are unpronouncable by the average speaker of English. If you want to increase your readership, and not alienate potential readers stick to names which reflect the potential of your character. Storm,(bringer) Heart…

Leshia: Twilight... — Hi, Lucinda! Thanks for responding! I should say, as I'm sure you've deduced, a friend of mine started this forum, and it never quite took off as he had hoped. I think our numbers are small, but feel free to post. Perhaps you'll be the spark we need! :-) Very Best, Leshia

Lucinda: Short Story Anthology Project — I'm keen to work with you on this, but I'm not clear on the parameters. Am I to understand you ask for a range of stories using similar/same? characters, and the same setting....or same charcaters different setting? Are all contributions to be of the fantasy genre, or are we open to using same charcters/setting in another genre?

Lucinda: Poll: How often do you write? — I'd like to add another option to your poll. Often/As much as life allows. For now it's just for me, but I'd like to share in a supportive forum
